Folds FlatPack the bins down when you need the shelf space back.
Six In A SetEnough to fill a whole cube unit in one go, each holding up to 4.99 kg.

Six bright cube storage bins that turn a messy floor into a tidy shelf in about ten minutes.

Fabric cubes with a reinforced base and sewn-in side handles, sized at 27 x 27 x 27.5 cm to slot into most cube shelving units and fold flat when you do not need them.

A set of six fabric storage cubes that slot straight into most cube shelving and give every pile of toys a home.

Each bin measures 27 cm long, 27 cm wide and 27.5 cm tall, so a standard cube opening takes one without a fight.

Sewn-in side handles mean a child can pull a bin out, use what is inside, and push it back without help.

A reinforced base holds the square shape so the cubes stand up on an open shelf instead of slumping.

When the room changes, the bins fold flat and store in a gap behind a door.

Colourful Cube Storage Bins (6 Pack)

Most kids' rooms do not have a storage problem so much as a sorting problem. The toys are there, the shelf is there, but nothing in between tells anyone where a thing belongs. These cube storage bins fill that gap. Six fabric cubes, each one a container with a clear edge and a clear job, dropped into the shelf openings you already have.

Colourful Cube Storage Bins (6 Pack)

The measurements are the part that matters most. Each bin is 27 cm long, 27 cm wide and 27.5 cm tall, which is the size most cube shelving units are built around. That means the cube sits inside the opening with a little clearance rather than bowing the frame or leaving a wide gap on each side. Six of them will fill a typical six-cube unit, or spread across two smaller shelves.

Colourful Cube Storage Bins (6 Pack)

A reinforced base keeps the square shape even when a bin is only half full. That is the difference between a storage cube and a fabric bag. The cube stands on its own, stacks on a flat surface, and does not collapse in on itself the moment the blocks come out. Each one is rated to hold up to 4.99 kg, which covers a good load of building bricks, soft toys, craft supplies or folded clothes.

Colourful Cube Storage Bins (6 Pack)

Sewn-in side handles are there for the daily reality of a playroom. Nobody wants to carry an armful of loose toys from the lounge back to the shelf. A child old enough to use the room (ages 3 and up) can grab the handle, pull the whole bin down, tip out what they want on the rug, and slide it back when they are done. The handles also make it easy to lift a bin from a high shelf without reaching into the back of it.

Colourful Cube Storage Bins (6 Pack)

When the room changes, and it will, the bins fold flat. Pack them down for a move, store the spares behind a wardrobe door, or bring out two more when a birthday brings new things to put away. The same cubes work in a classroom cupboard, a hallway bench, an office shelf or a linen cupboard, so they rarely end up unused.

Not sure yet? That is fine.

You cannot pick a toy up or sit at a table through a screen. If it is not right, send it back within 14 days of delivery, unused, complete and in its original packaging, and we refund the price you paid, including standard delivery. That is on top of your Australian Consumer Law rights if anything arrives faulty.

If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. The Australian Consumer Law and the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 covers you, and we pay the return postage. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly comes in the set?

You get six fabric cube storage bins. Each one has a sewn-in side handle as part of the included components. Nothing else is needed to use them.

How big is each bin?

Each cube measures 27 cm long, 27 cm wide and 27.5 cm tall. That is the finished size of the bin itself, not the shelf opening it goes into.

Will these fit my cube shelving unit?

They are sized for most standard cube organisers, which typically have openings a little over 28 cm square. Measure the inside of one opening before you order to be sure, since cube shelf brands vary slightly.

How much can one bin hold?

The stated capacity is 4.99 kg per bin. That is a solid load of building bricks, soft toys, books or folded clothing.

What are they made from?

The material is listed as fabric with a reinforced base that holds the cube shape. The exact fabric composition is not specified.

What colour are they?

The colour is listed as colourful, so the set is made up of bright shades rather than one single tone. The finish type is listed as unfinished.

Do they fold flat?

Yes. Empty the bin and it packs down flat, which makes it easy to store spares or move the set between rooms without taking up a shelf.

Are these good as kids toy storage bins?

That is the main use. The side handles and open top mean a child can pull one down, use what is inside, and put it back without an adult lifting anything.

What age are they suitable for?

Ages 3 and up. The bins themselves are furniture-style storage, so the size and weight matter more than the age, but we recommend them for rooms used by children aged 3 and over.

Can adults use them too?

Absolutely. People use fabric storage cubes for linen, scarves, cables, craft supplies, office paperwork and pantry overflow. The size suits any shelf with a cube opening.

Do they have lids?

No, these are open-top bins. That is deliberate for toy storage, since a lid adds a step and kids tend to skip it.

Can I stack them without a shelf?

The reinforced base means a full bin will hold its shape on a flat surface, but these are designed to sit inside a cube unit rather than to be stacked high. Stacking more than two is not recommended.

Will they stand up on their own when empty?

The reinforced base helps them hold the square shape even when lightly filled. A completely empty bin on an open floor may lean a little, which is normal for a fabric cube.

How do I clean them?

Wipe the outside with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent, then let the bin air dry completely. Do not machine wash, soak or tumble dry.

Are they dishwasher safe?

No. The product details list them as not dishwasher safe, and fabric with a reinforced base should never go through a wash cycle.

What happens if something spills inside?

Take the contents out, wipe the inside with a damp cloth, and leave the bin open to air dry before refilling it. Avoid soaking the base.

How heavy is the whole set?

The listed item weight is 1.81 kg for the set. Each individual bin is light enough for a child to carry when it is only part full.

Can they go outside or on a balcony?

They are indoor storage. Fabric left in sun and rain will fade and lose shape, so keep them inside.

Will the handles tear if a bin is full?

The handles are sewn in rather than glued on, which is the right build for repeated lifting. Stay within the 4.99 kg capacity and lift from the handle rather than dragging the bin across a rough floor.

Do I need tools to set them up?

No. They arrive folded, you open them out, press the base flat, and they are ready. The whole set takes a couple of minutes.

Can I use them in a classroom?

Yes. Six matching bins work well for sorting materials across a cupboard or shelf unit, and the handles let students fetch and return their own supplies.

What are some good ways to sort toys between the bins?

Sorting by type works best for most families, so one bin for building sets, one for figures, one for craft, one for cars. If reading is the issue, keep one bin for books with spines facing up.

Are these the best cube storage bins for a shared bedroom?

They suit shared rooms well because the colours let each child claim their own bins at a glance. Six in a set usually means three each.

Do the bins have any smell when new?

New fabric storage sometimes has a faint packaging smell. Open the bins out and leave them in a ventilated room for a day and it clears.

Can I write labels on them?

There is no label holder, so a clip-on tag or a small adhesive label on the front works best. Avoid permanent marker directly on the fabric.

How many will fill a standard six-cube unit?

Six, which is exactly what the set gives you. If you have a nine-cube unit, you may want to leave three openings for books or a basket.

How long does delivery take?

Orders ship from Australian warehouses and usually arrive in 3 to 7 working days. You will get tracking once the parcel leaves the warehouse.

What is the returns policy?

Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Items need to be unused and back in the original packaging.

Can I order a second set to match later?

Usually yes, though colours in a fabric set can vary slightly between production runs. If you think you will want more, ordering both sets at the same time is the safer bet.

What if they are not right once they arrive?

Measure your shelf opening against the 27 x 27 x 27.5 cm cube first, since fit is the most common reason people send storage back. If they still are not right, fold them back down, return them in the original packaging within 14 days of delivery, and we will sort it out.

How To Choose Cube Storage Bins That Actually Get Used

6 min read Toys & Games Australia

The real problem is not storage, it is sorting

Walk into most messy kids' rooms and you will find plenty of storage. A shelf unit. A toy box. A few baskets from three different sets. The floor is still covered.

That is because storage and sorting are different jobs. A big toy box is storage. Everything goes in, nothing comes out in one piece, and finding a specific car means emptying the lot. Sorting is what happens when each kind of thing has its own container, and the container is small enough that a child can see the bottom of it.

Cube storage bins solve the second problem. Six separate containers, each one a manageable size, each one with an obvious front. The blocks go in the blue one. The figures go in the red one. Nobody has to remember a system, because the system is visible.

How these cubes work

Each bin here is 27 cm long, 27 cm wide and 27.5 cm tall. The fabric body is built around a reinforced base, which is the part that makes a cube a cube rather than a bag. Without that base, a fabric container sags inward the moment it is less than full, and sagging containers tip, spill and look untidy even when they are not.

The side handles are sewn in. That sounds minor until you watch how children actually use storage. They do not reach into a bin on a shelf and pick out one toy. They pull the whole thing down, tip some of it onto the rug, and play. Then, if it is easy enough, they push it back. A handle turns that from a two-hand wrestle into a one-hand pull. The lower the friction, the more likely the bin goes back on the shelf.

Capacity is listed at 4.99 kg per bin. In practice that is a generous load. A full bin of wooden blocks gets close. A bin of soft toys will never come near it. The number matters mostly as a signal that the handles and base are built to carry a real load rather than a token one.

The whole set weighs 1.81 kg, which tells you these are light containers. That is a good thing for a child-height shelf and worth knowing if you plan to put one on a high shelf, where a light empty weight makes lifting easier.

Who they suit

The obvious home is a kids' room or playroom with an existing cube shelf. If you already own one of those square-grid units, this set is designed to fill it.

They also work in plenty of places that have nothing to do with toys. Linen cupboards, where folded towels stay in neat columns instead of toppling. Hall benches, where one cube per person holds hats, gloves and keys. Craft rooms, where paint, paper and glue each get a container. Classroom cupboards, where six matching bins let a whole class fetch and return their own materials. Office shelves, where cables and chargers stop breeding in a drawer.

They are less suited to a few situations. If you need dust protection, an open-top cube will not give it to you. If you want to store something wet or anything that might leak, fabric is the wrong material. If you plan to stack bins free-standing in a tall column, you want rigid plastic, not fabric.

Getting the fit right

This is where most storage purchases go wrong, so it is worth two minutes.

Find your cube shelf and measure the inside of one opening. Width, height, and depth. Write the three numbers down. A standard cube opening tends to be a little over 28 cm in each direction, which is why these bins are built at 27 x 27 x 27.5 cm. The small gap is deliberate. It lets the bin slide in and out without scraping, and it stops a slightly overfull cube from jamming.

If your opening measures under 27 cm in any direction, these will not fit, and no amount of pushing will change that. If your opening is much bigger, say 33 cm, the cubes will fit but will look lost with a visible gap on each side. That is not a dealbreaker (plenty of people run slightly undersized bins happily), but go in knowing.

Depth is the one people forget. A shelf that is only 25 cm deep will leave the cube proud of the front edge. Check it.

Working out how many you need

Six is the set, and six is also the number of openings in the most common cube unit, which is not a coincidence.

If you have a four-cube unit, you will have two spare. Use them for linen, or keep them folded flat as replacements. If you have a nine-cube unit, consider leaving a few openings open for books standing upright, since a wall of six identical bins plus three of something else usually looks better than nine of the same thing.

For a playroom with two shelf units, two sets gives you twelve bins, which is usually more sorting categories than a child can keep track of. Start with six. Add more only when you can name what would go in bin seven.

Setting them up so they stay set up

Unpack and open each cube out, pressing the base down flat so it holds the square. Decide your categories before you start filling, not while you are filling.

Keep the categories broad. "Building" beats "bricks" and "blocks" and "tiles" as three separate bins, because a child sorting at speed will not make that distinction. Four to six categories across six bins is about right, with one bin left loose for the odds and ends that fit nowhere.

Put the bins the child uses most at the bottom of the shelf. That sounds backwards to an adult eye, but the bottom row is the row a shorter person can reach without climbing, and reachable storage is used storage.

If the colours vary across the set, use them. "Cars in the yellow one" is a far easier instruction than "cars in the second one from the left on the top row."

Keeping them clean

Fabric storage is low maintenance, but not no maintenance.

Wipe the outside with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent when it looks grubby. Let it dry fully before you refill it. Do not put these in a washing machine, do not soak them, and keep them out of the tumble dryer. The reinforced base will not survive that, and once the base goes, the cube stops being a cube.

For a spill inside, empty the bin, wipe it out, and leave it open in a ventilated spot to dry. They are not dishwasher safe, so do not try it.

Twice a year, empty each bin completely. Not to clean it, but to see what is in there. Storage that is never emptied becomes an archive, and an archive takes up the space you bought the bins to free up.

When a bin is not in use, fold it flat. It will slide behind a wardrobe door or under a bed and take up almost nothing.

A note on expectations

Bins do not tidy a room. People do. What good bins change is the effort required, and effort is what decides whether a tidy-up happens at all.

A child who has to carry loose toys across a room in both arms will do it once. A child who can drag a bin over, sweep things into it, and slide it back on a shelf will do it most days. That gap, between awkward and easy, is the whole value here.

Give the system a fortnight before you judge it. The first week, you will be reminding. The second week, you will be reminding less. After that it is either working or your categories need adjusting, and adjusting categories costs nothing.

The short version

Six fabric cubes at 27 x 27 x 27.5 cm, built for standard cube shelving, with sewn-in side handles and a reinforced base. Each one holds up to 4.99 kg, and the set weighs 1.81 kg. They fold flat when you do not need them, wipe clean with a damp cloth, and are not dishwasher safe. Recommended for rooms used by children aged 3 and up, and just as useful in a linen cupboard or an office.

Measure one shelf opening before you buy. If it is a little over 28 cm square, these will drop straight in and you can stop thinking about it.
